DoA glaive way and frostway use imba's:OQGjUimKKT0bxgAh1YXcpbwb4YA
Guilds running balanced fow/uw often take an imba
Decent guilds/pugs may take one for Urgoz/The Deep
Dungeons I don't know about. Most teams these days are speed clears which have no purpose for an imba

However this is a very fun build to run: http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_Searing_Paragon

Sadly, yes, the Imbagon is nearly all there is to the class that teams accept. Sometimes I run around as a Scythe or Dagger Spammer or an inferior build just for a change of pace, but that's limited to when I'm playing h/h or with guildmates.

Usually I run cruel spear/ebsoh/tntf type build. SY just isn't need for 97% of the game. Only time to whip out the old imbagon is if the pug is really shit.

My paragon is my main character, and I use countless non Imbagon builds. I am not saying they are as effective, but they are highly fun and a different way to play one. It has been close to two years since I last used Save Yourselves on my bar, because ever since the stereotype of "Imbagon or horrible" came about, I have hated the bar. If you want some build ideas, send me a PM and I can send some your way.

Post them I only really Imba certain stuff so any bar I could paste would be largely meaningless(Like this one:OQGjUimKKT0bxgAh1YXcpbwb4YA). Para's are still effective without SY and I'm glad you've realised that. Stunning strike is fun and motivation is quite interesting

Para isn't my main char or the best farmer, but is certainly a fun alt to play.
Currently, I'm running Flaming Flamingo-way to go through Nightfall, pick up the treasures and finish up the trade contract quests.
Me - Random skills + Anthem of Flame + Theyre on fire + Flamingo pet
Jin - Incendiary arrows + Flamingo Pet
Koss - Earth Shaker + flamingo
Vekk - SF Ele
Effective? Synergy? Not really the point, more for the lulz of watching those three flamingos go running in, wings up and start pecking at burning things. Strangely enough, deaths are rare, even with "terrible" builds like these.

I usually play my paragon when I am drinking and/or drunk and just want to relax at home.
It helps that most of your skills are instant (shouts), you are ranged, you keep your party alive easily, and you won't die often (positioning + HP + armor + TNTF).
This allows for an optimal ratio of alcohol consumption, gameplay, and trash talking with little effect on your performance.
That said, I typically play an imbagon build tweaked to different areas. Mostly play it in a Physway type team for UW/FoW/DoA and ZB dungeons. Froggie runs are also okay sometimes.

As always the same question of all time: what can a paragon play? Imbagon is for sure the best build to keep ur party alive, but it's boring after 10 mins....XD
You can play a Stunning Strike, Cruel Sper and condition spamming build.....I'm a paragon fan, Guru knows it :P but what i noticed is that paragon rely much on pve skills...much more than other classes....
Anyway: skills like Spear of Fury and most Norn Skills are very cool for para. Triptophane signet is also nice with barbed spear...You can even play a very funny build like Wastrel Collapse and Awe to shut down casters in a sec....

A little fun from back when they were released http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMk1Op6qgYU
But seriously, Paragons are situationally good (TNTF is only usable on Paragons, P/W SY with spear of fury). "Stand Your ground!", "Fall Back!", "We Shall Return" can be run on Necros.
